Staying in Kirkcaldy for another 6 Weeks!!!

Well GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sister Jackson and I will be staying together for another 6 weeks!! WOO! Let the party continue. Not really a party this week though.. I have the flu... Ew sick I know. It's no good. But I just chug Lemsip (Its nasty by the way) and try not to die. It is working out okay for me.
This week has been quite normal.. Have I ever said that before? Well it has... Not sure really what happened.. it's all kind of a blur.. So sorry if this e-mail is too. Well let's start off with a cute story shall we? So we were chapping the other day and we were knocking on this ladies door and we talked with her for a bit and then she told us she wasn't interested, the usual.  As we were turning to walk to our dinner appointment this little boy at the house next to hers came out of nowhere and asked us if we were gonna come to his house next. So I asked him "Do you want us to? You think we should?" He said "yes!" in the happiest little boy voice, so we did. Nothing came of it...His grandma wasn't interested at all.  They were on their way out. But I was able to learn something! Little kids are so innocent! There is definitely something special about them! He was so nice! I hope one day he can hear the message Heavenly Father has for him! He was a special little boy!

MONDAY: Well we went to this AMAZING Fish and chip shop out in Anstruther's. It is like the best in the whole world! MM. We went there for our p-day and it was pretty fun. We ate some fish, found some seashells, ate some ice cream. Mmm. Good times! It was such a cute little fishing village! After that we came back to Kirkcaldy and we found a new park! We went to this park (Beveridge Park) It is so nice. It is right next to this little posh neighborhood, woo! SCORE! The park is like a mile wide. So we haven't got to all of it yet. We walked around it and talked to all the people walking their little Scotty dogs. Too cute.
TUESDAY: We went and saw "M.R" With Sister Scharff. She is doing good! She was able to come to church this last Sunday! We talked with her about different callings in the church. It was good. Had lunch, Don't remember what.. Probably cereal.. After lunch we went and tried by a few members we haven't seen in a while. None of them were in :( So sad. We will try again! Tuesday as we were walking to the Church we met this lady called "L". She was just in tears about something, so we sat and talked with her for a while. (about an hour actually). She was sad because she had been framed for something. We talked with her about the Church. I gave her a hug and a Book of Mormon and she was off on her way. Didn't get her phone number or anything so I hope she is doing better. She was really nice. We had our Book of Mormon class with Alison and John. They are so funny. It was really good. After that we had Sign Language class. We learned some phrases. I will have to show you all when I get home (: It went good and there were a few people there. We found out last week that after Sister Jackson and I leave none of the new sisters will be learning Sign language here. Kinda sad.. But the ward members will be the ones doing it, which is good because we all (sister missionaries) just leave anyway.
WEDNESDAY: We went and tried by this lady named "J", She wasn't in so that was sad. But we just chapped her street so that was good. After that we got on the bus and went over near Kinghorn, and we chapped some houses over there, They were really nice! We met this lady name "K". She actually had a lot of questions about the Church and why there were so many churches. She said she was in the middle of moving houses so she didn't have time to meet with us but we gave her our card and number so hopefully she will get in contact! After that we went out to Glenrothes and did some chapping with the Elders. So we figured that if all 4 of us go to one street we can finish the whole street! Great idea huh!? So that's what we did. It was good, We each pray about a street to go to and then we go and chap both streets! It was good. After we did that and had dinner we went to try by "M" and "L". They are some of our deaf friends. "L" was in, so we sat and chatted with her for a bit. Good stuff. My Sign language is getting better. Still working on it! It takes a while! I am practicing though. Hopefully soon it will just all rush into me and I will be fluent! haha but probably not...
THURSDAY: We did our weekly planning and then we went and taught "L" and "S". "S" wasn't feeling too good so we just met with "L" and answered some of his questions. He was asking us why we need the Book of Mormon so we read with him and helped him to understand better. We invited "L" and "S" to be Baptized on the 24th of October and they said yes! They are so great! Thursday night we had dinner with the Binnies! They are too great. Man do I say that every week!? Well it's true! One of our Investigators "E" was there too. Good stuff!
FRIDAY: We had our District meeting. They switched things up a little this week because the family history couple came and taught us about, well, family history. So that was good. We went chapping again with the Elders, good stuff. Got some crazy chapping stories but I don't think they are okay to send over email so someone remind me when I get home!! Haha After that we went to this cool park we found (Beveridge park). It is so cool. So we went there and talked with people about family history. That was really good! After that we went home and had dinner. Then we went and visited a member (Winnie) she was in the hospital, not feeling too good, so we went over to try to cheer her up. She should be getting out this week so she was excited!
SATURDAY: We went and visited "F". She is doing good as always. We made our progress record for ward coordination, that was fun. Then we went and saw "L" again with Alison Wilson. She is great! We taught "L" about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He said that he and "S" want to be Baptized on the 24th, so it's great! We came home had dinner and I was dying (cause of the flu). So we stayed in and I rested. Still feeling it today but I will be okay!
SUNDAY: Church, it was good. Andrew didn't come so we didn't sign this Sunday. After Church we went and Visited "A". She was having a rough time this last week. We cleaned her kitchen for her and washed the floors. It made her feel better so we were happy to help! After that, we came home, had dinner and then went to visit "M.R.". She Is doing good! We talked with her about Jesus Christ. She is really so funny. She was telling us about a newt she found in her garden and how she doesn't like them but she wanted to take a picture of it so she was holding it in her hand as far away as possible so she could take the picture. Haha she's great!
Later that night...We got Moves call/ We are staying together!! WOOOOO!!

Well I believe that is really all of the exciting things that happened to us this last week in Kirkcaldy. So I don't know why but all of you all (except for Mama Howell and the Ashton's) have forgotten about me over here.. So if you want.... You can write me a letter ya know. I wouldn't be mad.. Just saying. Go ahead. Family home evening is a great time for it! (Did you get that dad? You all should write me letters) Well, I Love you all!!! a lot! ~SISTER STRIBLING

Kirkcaldy is great! I love it!

Well this last week Sister Jackson has been sick with a cold/flu? I don't really know for sure...I am not a doctor... Or am I? No I am not. But I made her go to sleep and then I made some chicken and rice soup and apple crisp. Yeah I had too much time on my hands. I went through all 3 of our area books, Sheesh! Tried calling people, no one loved us or wanted to talk to us. Oh well! The work goes on! Sister Jackson is feeling better now so it's good!
Monday we had the LAMEST P-day on record. We didn't do anything. Broke, soaking wet from the rain and bored. What a great P day.. We did have Family Home evening at a members house. "A" (A deaf man In our ward) was there, so that was good! He is so great haha He is HILARIOUS!!
Tuesday we had our District meeting. Surprise! And then we went and painted Anne's bathroom Periwinkle! It was really fun! Until someone... Sister jackson...painted my shoe periwinkle! haha Oh well. It was a lot of fun. We have been reading the Book of Mormon with Anne; we finished Enos, Jarom and Omni. They are really good! Go read them! After that we went and did some Chapping and then ate some dinner and had Ward Council, Book of Mormon class, and Sign Language class.
Wednesday Sister Jackson was sick as a.. I don't know what. So I made her sleep. i am such a good Doctor (: After she felt a little better so we went to see our friends "E" and "E", They are so cool. It's a girl and her Gran. Too cute. We talked with them for a bit and then we headed off to Glenrothes. Our areas are getting split so we won't have Glenrothes anymore. So Sad. but hey whatcha gonna do? Well we visited Sister Maitland out there. She is doing good. She is so sweet! We went over to the Blacks house for Dinner and had Lasagna, mmm. They are so cute. Their son is on his mission now in Spain. Pretty cool huh!?
Thursday, we had Exchanges with the Sister Training Leaders. I stayed with Sister Wilkinson here in Kirkcaldy. We went over to Burntisland with John (a Member) and had lunch at this amazing sandwich place, "Mean green sandwhich machine". Go look it up, It's great! and then we went Chapping, and met 3 new people! cool cool stuff! Then we had Dinner at the Binnnies house, They are too funny. Morgan was bullying me though! Haha good times! After the Binnies, Sister Wilkinson accidentally called the emergency number while we were running to the bus and they stayed on the phone for like 5 minutes! Haha It was funny, but no good! We went and saw "M.R", She is doing good! She came to church Sunday.  She is so funny. Man I love her!
Friday, we finished painting Anne's Bathroom and we did some chapping! Gotta love it right!! I sure do! We had dinner at "A.W's" house and that was fun. I found out that my ancestors- On Moms dad's side (Maxwell's) are from Dumfries,Scotland! WOAH! Crazy!! Too bad only Elders go there
Saturday, we Blitzed in Dunfermline at the Glen, We did Sidewalk chalking and we walked around for hours talking with people. We didn't get too much from it :( After that we went and Chapped a street (Raith Road) with the Elders and it was really good! We had a 45 minute discussion with a baptist Elder at his house. He had a lot of good questions and it was a learning experience for me for sure! Humbling if anything else.
Sunday, Church was good. It was Back to Church Sunday so there were a lot of people there! Every week should be like that! We had a Munch and Mingle and it was really good!

Kirkcaldy is great! I love it! I love you all! Hope you are doing good!!! ~SISTER STRIBLING

This week in freezing cold Kirkcaldy

OH my goodness! Hey party people, how's it going? Hopefully great, In whichever part of the world you are in. Crazy.. The world is so big huh? Let's think about it for a second.. Mhmm, good stuff. Well Over here in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, our last week was a crazy adventure. And when I say crazy adventure I mean it has been close to the same as the other 46 weeks of my mission.... Wow that's crazy huh... Let's not think about that anymore.. Well our week was rather eventless. Okay that might be a lie so let's review it.
So Monday- Regular P-day things as usual. We went to the beach and had a picnic so that was fun until someones stupid dog came and ran on our picnic blanket and got it's wet drooly sand stuck in our phone.. Nasty huh.. Yeah we have to put that up to our ears.. So to clean it out I just dumped some water on it.. Seems to be working okay now so its okay we have forgiven that dog. Haha okay so the same dog... I was sitting there writing a letter and I look up at just the right time and this dog lifted his leg up and PEED ON A BABY!!! Can you believe that. I was just sitting there in shock.. and the mom was just sitting right there and the dog still peed on the baby! Oh gosh. And the dog owners didn't even apologize! Man. It was a crazy day for sure. On Monday, we also went over to the Thompson's home and we had Family Home evening. It was good, we did pictionary for the game. Our teams tied.
Tuesday we had District meeting and I made some enchiladas for lunch afterwards so it was fun. We learned a lot about Charity...What it is...how we can obtain it. Well, I haven't mastered it yet but I am trying! And I am sure over the next 100 years of my life I will be a little better! Tuesday we also went and saw our friend "J". He is getting baptised on the 10th of October.  He is out of town now so we won't see him for a little while. But it will be great! We also saw our friend "C:". He is so good. Oh man. I don't even know how it is possible. He said he prayed about the Book of Mormon and he got a really good feeling. So we asked him to pray about a baptism date and he said he would! Man he is the bomb! Tuesday night we had Ward Council and Book of Mormon Class. We are reading in 2 Nephi 1.  It was good. And we also had our Sign language class, and learned some good stuff in there too!
Wednesday, I had my heart broken. There is a sweet little old lady that invited us over for lunch so we went over to Sister Gowans house and had some lunch with her, We shared our little message and talked with her about her interest and her life. She is so strong! As we were leaving I gave her a hug and she started to cry! I thought I hurt her or something. But she started talking to me about how when I hugged her she could feel love coming off of me into her heart. Seriously. I was about to cry like a baby and she said to me that she doesn't want us to think she is weak so she had to pull herself together. She is a hoot. I love that woman so much! She is the best.

FYI-I found out that over the course of my mission so far I have taught 221 lessons. Crazy huh? Good stuff!

Thursday, we did our planning like always. We saw Frances, a member out in Thornton. She is so sweet.  She is like 93 and she has us over every week. I love hearing her stories about life and her baptism.  She got baptised in 2002. She is amazing. We also went over to the Binnies for dinner. They are too funny. We had burgers so that was exciting!
Friday, we taught "J" again. And then we went out to the Glenrothes and painted the rest of Alison's fence for her. Good Stuff! We were chapping at like 7 at night. So what we did was a few weeks ago we gave a member (Sister Brown) a Book of Mormon and asked her to pray about a street we could chap to give it away to someone after she wrote her testimony in it. Well she did and so we were chapping on Cairn Street. And we met this guy named "D". "D" had been taught by the Missionaries before and he said he had a Book of Mormon already so he didn't need one. Well we invited him to read the Introduction and to pray about it and he promised us he would. So we left and gave him our number to tell us about how it went. Well we got home from our chapping with the Book of Mormon from Sister Brown still in our bag, We were a little sad. We got in around 8:30 to start our Sign Language study and Guess who called us! "D" He said he couldn't find his Book of Mormon and asked if we would be able to come and bring him one! So we got our coats back on and ran over to give him one. It was such an uplifting experience. Heavenly Father is aware of us. He knows us. He loves us. I know he does."D" is planning on coming to General Conference. So it will be good!
Saturday, we went over to the Bousies for dinner. They are too funny. They have a little boy named Isaac(he is like 3 or 4) and I was playing with him and he tried to kiss me Haha I was dying laughing. So funny
Sunday was so good. Like always. I was able to Interpret some of the Sacrament Meeting into British Sign language. Uh I have been here for 3 weeks now.. And I can do Sign language.. That is not normal. Heavenly Father puts us places for a reason. It can be confusing and Frustrating! But He knows what he is doing! I love it! Kirkcaldy is great! We went over to The Browns(Old mission Presidents) house for dinner. They are so good!  I love them so much! Oh man. I love this place. I love you all!!!!!! I hope you are doing good!!!!! LOVE SISTER STRIBLING

Sunsets, New Friends, New Outlooks

Well hello there people on Earth and surrounding planets! Sister Stribling here with the weekly (unless I run out of time and can't do it) report!
   So this week in the town of Kirkcaldy-starting off from Monday...we went on a beach tour. When I say beach tour I mean we took the bus out to a beach and then we realized the tide was way too high! So we couldn't walk along the Coastal route so we had to walk on the road for 2 miles! Well it wasn't actually that bad because in Limerick we walked 20 odd miles everyday so I am used to it but some of the others weren't too happy. haha OH WELL IT WAS FUN! Found a few sea shells. My new favorite P-day hobby! Then we had some Subway.(Chicken teriyaki just for you mom) (;
Tuesday we had our District meeting, We were instructed on Repentance, good stuff. I love repentance! Go repent! It is great! You're all great! After District meeting we had Exchanges. I went with Sister Wilkinson over to Dunfermline, that was fun. We Chapped ALL DAY! haha it was crazy. We sure chapped a lot of doors. No one was interested but we still did it! We did it! All of the lessons we had planned fell through, so we chapped some more. Had some noodles for dinner. Mhmm..
Wednesday we had lunch with Sister Brown (the Bishop's wife) We made some toasties! (Sandwhiches) Fun stuff. We went to meet with our new friends "J" and "M".  Sister Brown (the  Old mission Presidents wife) came with us. -Heads up: There are like 90 Browns in the Kirkcaldy ward so good luck trying to decipher! - It was really good! "J" is 85 and "M" is 50 and "J" sure has a lot of questions pertaining to the things that happen after we die. So we talked to them about the Plan of Salvation and it was good, They both recognized that they were able to feel the spirit, so that was really good for them! After that we had a new lesson with our friend "C", He is going to school up here from Edinburgh. Well "C" is awesome. We invited him to be baptised and he said yes! First lesson, What a blessing. It is so amazing to me to watch people come closer to their Heavenly Father. It is such a great experience!
Thursday, we did our Weekly planning. So much fun! (not really) We tried by a lot of our former investigators but none of them were home really. So sad! We had Dinner at the Binnies home. They are too funny. haha it was so good!
Friday, we taught our friend "J". He is getting Baptized on the 10th of October. He is so funny. He is going on Holiday this week so we will miss him for a few weeks! After that we went to see a member, Margaret R. She is so nice, We go and see her each week. She is the best! Haha it is such a hoot talking with her! Then we had some lunch and went out to Glenrothes to paint a fence! We only got half done so we will finish it this week! and we get to paint someones bathroom and strip another ladies wallpaper! Man I am going to be a professional by the time I am done!
Saturday! Not much was done on Saturday. We tried to see "J" and "M" but "M" wasn't in, so we couldn't teach "J". Next we went to a members house, (Anne Powell) and we studied the Book of Mormon with her. She is so sweet! I just love her so much haha she made us a picnic dinner too, she is the best!
Sunday was filled with Church and Sign language, talking to old ladies on the side of the road, being invited to have coffee with them, and going to the Fellows house for Chicken dinner. Too good! Sunday was very uplifting!

The testimonies of Members is amazing! SHARE YOURS!! People need to hear it! GO! SHARE IT! NOW! or next fast Sunday whichever is more convenient!I LOVE YOU ALL! I hope you have a great week (: The Church is TRUE! Thats all. ~SISTER STRIBLING

My Week in Kirkcaldy

Sister Jackson and I (:

Well Sorry about last week and the emailing fiasco. Man Good word Sister Stribling. So what happened was I had it all typed up and I was just about to send it and then BAM! The computer logged me right off! RUDE HUH!? So I just sat there in shock for a good 5 minutes and then cried just thinking about how my mom is gonna have a few choice words for me this week..... I AM SORRY!!!! I have repented and changed!!!! I promise. So now for the good stuff...
We SAW DOLPHINS!!!!!! I have a video of them but it won't send so you will have to wait for 8 months.
There were 3 of them just jumping all around!

Well this week we sure did a lot of things!! First off on Monday we went to this place called Elie and we did a chain walk! So for this chain walk thing there are huge chains stuck into the sides of these rocks and people go there and climb up them and go by the little caves and cliffs and it is so pretty!!!!! You should all go there- I recommend it! After that we came back to Kirkcaldy and we had Family Home Evening with some members and our Friend "A". He is deaf. He is seriously so funny and nice! Haha he is great!
Tuesday, we had a meeting. Scotland East. It was good it was our Zone (Dundee) and Aberdeen Zone. We talked about a ton of things! They were all good! We practiced sharing a one minute lesson on the Restoration. I am getting pretty good. So that is exciting. Oh and we had cake. That's always good! Came home, then we went to Ward Council and we had Fish and Chips for dinner. mmmm and then we had our British sign language class at the Church. There were quite a bit of members that come to it so that was really good! Andrew taught it!
Wednesday, we did some finding. We were walking by the beach talking with people. I love this place so much. Ah it's so good! We went over to this members house for lunch. Her name is Margaret Kelly. Now let me tell you.. There are so many Margarets here you wouldn't believe it! But it is true! We went out to Glenrothes after that and we taught a recent convert named Kim that was good. After that we went all the way over to Dysart and had dinner with our Investigator "J". The Thompson family from the ward came over too and it was so great! "J" is so great!! He is so nice! We came home and learned some Sign language so that was good. Man- It is tough. Have you ever tried to learn British Sign language.. I have- The Grammar is SO different. It drives me crazy but I pray and do my best! Heavenly Father provides the rest for me! I Sure do love Him.
Thursday we did our planning like every other Thursday so that was good. We went over to Sister Browns house and had lunch with her. It's called Cullen skink. It was really good! Kinda strange at first. It has so much fish and mussels and fishy stuff in it.
Friday and Saturday we just had some lessons with our friends and we did a lot of Finding around Kirkcaldy, Lots of Chapping. This one man we Chapped on his door and he set up an appointment with us! Exciting huh!!!! It sure is!!!
Sunday, (Yesterday) we had church. It was really good. We had Combined Priesthood and Relief Society so we talked about the importance of the Sabbath day. Next week our meeting times are getting switched so we will have Sacrament first! Exciting!
I love you all and hope that you have a great week!!!! Thank you for all of your prayers and letters!!! LOVE SISTER STRIBLING
Please enjoy these pics from the lovely beaches in Scotland (;

My first week half back in Scotland

Farewell to my friends in Limerick :-(

Over the Island and through the Sea to Kirkcaldy I went. Well I have been here for just about 3 days or so now and I love it. It is so good! The people here are really nice and so that is good! The weather has been SUNNY! Can you believe it! I was about to shrivel up like a grandma in a pool but there is still hope!! Here In Kirkcaldy there is a lot going on! We have a few friends that we are teaching and they are so sweet! We are right next to the beach! Can you believe it! I still can't!! Crazy stuff! So here in Kirkcaldy we teach some people in Sign language... WOO! Let me tell you, Me trying to learn sign language is quite a sight! I have picked up quite a bit though so I think it is going good!! So rewind time for a bit.
On Monday! Wow that was so long ago...We cleaned and shopped and emailed. Then we went around and said bye to some people. I had to say Bye to Juan and Sonia.. So SAD! I MISS THEM! I just love them so much! Oh man. They are so good! I made their Grandson a crocheted duck! Because his favorite animal is a duck. He liked it so that was good!
Tuesday was nuts! We went and said bye to more people and then we had to go to the Bus station and pick up two other Sisters and then we switched companions and went to DUBLIN!
 Josie Allen and I
 Me with the Enokibara Family
 The Banabos
Sister Faloon and I
Haha oh Sister Stewart

Wednesday, we woke up at 4:30 am and we set off to the Bus station. We took a bus up north to Belfast and then another bus to the ferry and then we took a ferry over to Scotland and then a bus to Edinburgh! Man.. After that we had a train ride for an hour and a half and then!!!!!!! We got to Dundee, stayed the night there and took another bus in the morning.
SO we arrived on Thursday morning around 11. (Man I just realized I have 5 Minutes and like 45 minutes worth of stuff to write about.) SORRY!!!! Miracle story- So we had to all buy Train tickets and it is the End of the month so most of us are all broke or we have like 19$ so you can't take money out unless its 20$. Well I Was one of those people. But as one of the other sisters was getting her ticket the machine gave her back 10 pounds but she paid with exact change. There aren't any workers there that are in charge of the Machines so we didn't know what to do? So it was like a miracle! We all got our tickets and we were off!! I have arrived safely in Scotland and my new companion Sister Jackson and I are doing good here!!
Sister Dias and i with our white faces at 4 in the morning

(Mom note-This weekly update was written by Sister Stribling last week on P-Day but when she went to send it out the computer logged her off and so the email was in limbo until this week.)

Bye Bye to Limerick & Sister Stewart...Hello Scotland (again)
